OGAE SONG CONTEST POLL 2019April 3, 2019
If Eurovision was left up to the experts – that’s, of course, the OGAE fans of the world - then we would have been traveling to very different places in recent years.
The OGAE Eurovision Song Contest Poll surveys all OGAE fan clubs around the world for their predictions, with past results recorded since 2007 putting us in Sweden and Denmark for an extra year, and Hungary for the very first time. It would have also returned us to Italy, twice, for the first time since 1990, and France for the first time since 1977. But, alas, those casual fans and judges go and ruin it all for us…ha ha!
In the 12 year history of the poll, the fan clubs have correctly predicted Serbia, Norway, Sweden (2012), Denmark, and most recently, Israel, to be victors. It’s not a great success rate, which could be a scary thing for the winner of the 2019 poll. Add to that, of the five correct predictions we have made, four have been incorrect the following year, and given that we predicted correctly last year, well… you can work it out. Let’s just hope for an Australian loss for this one.
Voting for the OGAE Australia contribution to the Eurovision Song Contest Poll is now open, with 40 songs to choose from (we can’t vote for ourselves, of course). With just over a month to go before Eurovision 2019 officially kicks off, those personal lists are starting to get locked in, so all you need to do is convert them into the traditional Eurovision 12-1 points to vote.
Voting is open to OGAE Australia members only, with the voting form available via or Facebook page, or from email.
