If you're the type of Eurovision fan who likes to unleash the outlaw in you, slow down, or find the calm after the storm, then the Queer Country Pride CHILLOUT Festival is just for you. And this year, OGAE Australia will be there!
It's no secret that the LGBT community has a strong presence in the Eurovision Song Contest, both on stage and in the audience, so OGAE Australia - the official Australian Eurovision Fan Club - is looking to make our presence known amongst the various LGBT festivals held around the country. In 2019, the OGAE Australian committee will kick things off at ChillOut, hosting a stall on Carnival Day, Sunday 10th March, showcasing the glitz and glamour of Eurovision.
ChillOut started in 1997, and has grown to be Australia's largest Queer Country Pride festival, set in the beautiful gay capital of regional Victoria, Daylesford. The acceptance and appreciation of LGBT life in this little area of the world in phenomenal, just like Eurovision itself each year.
You can "Shake Your Tailfeather" to dance, prance and chill over the weekend of 7th-11th March 2019, with dance parties, cocktails parties and pool parties galore. The world famous Beagle Tent will satisfy your cabaret and theatrical tastes, and the obligatory bush dance is sure to be loads of fun. On Sunday, the streets of Daylesford are taken over with the ChillOut Parade leading to the highlight of the weekend, the ChillOut Carnival Day.
With plenty of music, food, stalls and shows set in the picturesque bushland of the Hepburn Shire, the ChillOut Carnival Day is an event not to be missed. A limited number of Early Bird tickets are now available for just $20! Hit the link above to secure yours. (And while you're at it, don't forget to secure your accomodation nice and early!)
So, whether you're making a weekend out of it, or joining in for just the day, the OGAE Australia committee look forward to seeing you all there to say hello, as we prepare for Eurovision 2019 in Tel Aviv!
