DANIEL BERONIC (VIC) – ORDINARY COMMITTEE MEMBER

Hello Australia, it’s Daniel calling!

I watched my first Eurovision in 1998 when I was 14 and haven’t missed a contest since. Croatia’s Neka mi ne Svane from that year sparked my love of Croatian music and remains a favourite memory. Born in Australia to Croatian migrant parents, I’ve always felt connected to European culture—but Eurovision ignited my passion for language, geography, and diversity. I love it when countries perform in their native languages, but it’s the mix of bangers, ballads, folklore, and full-blown pop chaos that keeps me coming back. Eurovision is part of who I am!

Picking a favourite year or song is tough—there are so many. Standouts include Hard Rock Hallelujah (Finland, 2006), Sunstroke Project’s Run Away (2010) and Hey Mamma (2017), Euphoria (Sweden, 2012), Fuego (Cyprus, 2018), Soldi (Italy, 2019), SloMo (Spain, 2022), and Zjerm (Albania, 2025). But 2024 really stole my heart. Marko’s (Baby Lasagna) Rim Tim Tagi Dim—his story of leaving his village, turned into a grunge-pop anthem—echoed my own family’s migration journey, making it extra special.

Professionally, I work in aviation leadership, specialising in complex operations, crisis management, and emergency response. I’m a certified scuba diver, currently learning hip-hop dance, and passionate about travel, fitness, and wellbeing—biohacking has grabbed my attention recently. I’m married, and we share our home with two adored rescue dogs.

I joined OGAE Australia to connect more deeply with the Eurovision community and was thrilled to become a committee member in 2025. Eurovision is more than music—it’s about connection, culture, and shared passion. I hope to bring that spirit to everything I do as part of the club.
