OGAE Australia Celebrates Festive Season with Christmas Parties Across Eastern States
OGAE Australia brought the holiday cheer to life with a series of vibrant Christmas parties hosted in major cities across the eastern states. The festivities, held in Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, and Sydney, welcomed enthusiastic club members to celebrate the joyous season with a Eurovision flair.
The casual pub meetups provided a great opportunity to catch-up and unwind together, before the excitement of the 2024 Eurovision season kicks off.
“The Brisbane gathering saw members braving the summer rain and having dinner and drinks at the ‘Little Big House’ in Southbank. It was such a fun, easy going and casual night with gorgeous people. It was great meeting some new members.” - Sara Malihi (Ordinary Committee Member), QLD.
“In Melbourne, club members indulged in a Guinness (but mainly other drinks) at Irish bar ‘The Last Jar’. New and old members gathered, and discussions were around who was going to Eurovision in 2024, and who got accommodation in Malmö or Copenhagen.” - Jamie Williams (Vice-President, OGAE Australia), VIC.
“In Sydney, members and friends gathered at the ‘Sanctuary Hotel’ in the bustling heart of the CBD. The night was all about meeting new friends, catching up with old friends, lots of smiles, and looking ahead to the Eurovision season. Members and friends from all over New South Wales attended the meet-up over plenty of sweet cocktails and plenty of sweet times” - Jordan Vouroudis (Sectretary, OGAE Australia ), NSW.
“Our members in Canberra met up for an intimate gathering at PJs in the heart of the city centre. We collectively beamed our excitement for the upcoming song contest in Malmö, especially for some of our members who will be travelling to experience the spectacle in person for the first time. It was a wonderful way to get excited for the holidays and for what 2024 will bring.” - Anthony Cox (Ordinary Committee Member), ACT.
However, the festivities don't end there. OGAE Australia anticipates member-led events in Adelaide, Perth, and Tasmania in the coming weeks, promising more opportunities for fans to revel in the holiday spirit and unite over their shared love for Eurovision.
Speaking about the success of the Christmas parties, OGAE Australia President Lachlan Woods remarked, "It's heartwarming to witness our members come together and celebrate the joy of Christmas and Eurovision. The enthusiasm and camaraderie displayed at these events truly exemplify the spirit of our club."
