Junior Eurovision 2021 Review - Germany: Pauline Imagine Us
The Artist
Pauline is 12 years old, and won the German National Final Junior ESC - Wer fährt nach Paris? to earn her ticket to Paris. She is from Koblenz and when not singing, she enjoys hanging out with her friends and drawing.
Pauline also plays the drums and the piano, and has won prizes at Jugend musiziert, which is a big music competition for children and young people right across Germany.
The Song
Imagine Us is an upbeat song to remind us to remain positive and keep optimistic. Even though things are tough, there are better times coming. The song is mostly in German, except for smatterings of English.
Imagine Us is written by Alex Henke (German songwriter), Torben Brüggemann (German songwriter, producer and engineer), Ricardo Munoz (German songwriter, who has worked with Michael Schulte) and Patrick Salmy (Austrian songwriter).

Germany at JESC
This will be Germany’s second appearance at Junior Eurovision after their debut in 2020 - Susan’s song Stronger with You came last in a small field of 12.

Much better Germany! This is a significant improvement on last year, and the revamp has made a great song even better. The revamp has made the song feel more anthemic, and I for one am all for it.

Well this is a big improvement on last year! It's a bit cheesy but in a good way, I've found myself singing it a number a times so it's got the catchy factor going for it too! A nice entry that has broad appeal, good job Germany!

I get so excited to hear the German language in the greater Eurovision world. This is a sweet sounding song sung by a great artist. Would definitely work as a travel or kids show jingle and that is not a bad thing at all. Middle of the road and maybe a bit safe, but I like it and can’t wait to see the full package next month.

Germany was one of the first countries to release their song - ‘Imagine Us’. They have now added a revamp which includes a key change, which I felt was very needed and has improved the song greatly. The song is quite monotonous but is a bit catchy. I have slowly come to enjoy Germany’s song.

It’s definitely catchy, but also a bit cheesy.. It’s not bad but I’m not a huge fan of the song but I like catchy-ness! It’s very simple/basic/boring for me but not bad.
