Junior Eurovision 2021 Review - Georgia: Nikoloz Kajaia Let's Count The Smiles

The Artist
Nikoloz Kajaia is Georgia’s representative this year. Born and raised in Tbilisi, Nikoloz is not only a singer, but a sculptor and a keen fan of cartoons. He has big plans and gives himself 10 years to become a super famous pop star or the President of Georgia.

He is 10 years old and won the Georgian National Final to earn the right to represent his country in Paris this year.

The Song

Let's Count The Smiles has a contemporary song with touches of disco, funk, and swing.

The song is in Georgian, with touches of French and English.

Giorgi (aka Giga) Kukhianidze wrote the song and is no stranger to the Junior Eurovision world. He wrote the Georgian entries from 2007 to 2017 and last year’s song You Are Not Alone by Sandra Gadelia which came 6th.

The song is currently available on our YouTube and Spotify playlists.

Georgia at JESC

Georgia has been a powerhouse at JESC with three wins: 2008 Bzikebi with Bzz.., 2011 Candy Music by Candy, and Mariam Mamadashvili singing Mzeo in 2016. Georgia has appeared every year since their debut in 2007.

What an amusing little song! Reminds me a lot of their 2019 song, but is that a good thing? I’m not sure yet

Welcome to Junior Eurovision 1975! What a great throwback this is! Nikoloz is extremely charismatic and it's just a bop! This is going to do very well

Danie: 9/10 ✭✭✭✭✭✭✭✭✭✩

HELLO. I dunno if we have met but I am a product of the 1970s and this is right up my alley. Absolutely adore it!!

Kurtis: 7/10 ✭✭✭✭✭✭✭✩✩✩

I surprisingly enjoy this song. I am not a big fan of cheesy songs, nor of disco. But I enjoy this. Georgia has composed an engaging and fun song that suits Nikoloz well. Nikoloz seems likeable and awkward, which adds to his charm. I love the little dance moves in the music video, hope we get to see them on the stage.

Raquel: 7/10 ✭✭✭✭✭✭✭✩✩✩

It’s not my style but it’s good! It’s a fun upbeat song! I find the dancing quite funny and awkward! I love the whole retro, disco, 1970’s feel it has!

Average Score: 7.6
